Warning all bands: We recently got contacted by someone claiming to work for Gorilla Productions, asking if we wanted to play at a Battle of the Bands contest in Houston. The same sounded familiar so I did a quick google search for "Gorilla Productions Rip Off" and yep, there they were...

Listen bands:
1. Never pay to play. Don't do it. (And if you do you better be SURE it is worth it!)
2. I HATE "art contests". The beauty of Art is it's subjectivity. I know there are some well meaning promoters out there that love this kind of stuff because of the crowds it brings and all, but the bottom line is that it's just an ugly thing to do to art.
How about this, have a battle of the bands, but have every band play the same song in exactly the same way. Doesn't sound much fun does it? Well neither is the other way.

Rip Off Alert!: Cash4Gold:

(In my opinion from reading information online, you should do your own reading do and make up your own mind):
Cash4Gold claims they will give you lots of money for your gold at a fair market price, but they don't, (they are only giving 1/3 value) and they are about to air an ad during the Superbowl. My good friend J-Walk is calling them out:
