"Winston and Morgan were coming out of Oil Can Harry's, a predominately gay bar and were walking back to their car parked at Austin City Hall.
Four men followed them from Lavaca and 4th street to Austin City Hall where Morgan and Winston say they began beating them yelling derogatory slurs."
To the 4 Ignorant Cowards that did this:
I put a curse on you. Your Mothers, and anyone that you might love will suffer terribly by the hands of fate. The ignorance and hate in your hearts will feed this curse, and the pain your Mother and loved ones will feel will rain darkness over you for the rest of your days. Something red. A straight line. A high pitched tone.
Turn yourselves in and all will be forgotten.

ACL Poo Fest?
Apparently, according to the Austin American Stateman:
"When the Great Lawn was resodded several months ago, a special, durable Tifway grass was used. Most of the mud that surfaced above the grass Saturday was so-called “Dillo dirt,” a compost made by the City of Austin from yard trimmings collected curbside as well as some treated sewage sludge. That’s why Zilker smelled so bad Sunday."

Another Brutal Attack on 6th Street:
Shootings, Murder, Rape... it's becoming a war zone down there, now this:
"21-year old Brian Henry remains in I.C.U. at Brackenridge Hospital with a fractured skull and bruises he suffered on July 18th around 2:22 a.m.
Henry and a group of friends were waiting on a ride at 6th and Neches. When Henry stepped away from his friends just for a moment he was sucker punched by a white man wearing no shoes or shirt, only jeans."
SXSW might want to move the festival to a safer place, maybe another city... Or folks coming to SXSW this year might wanna start taking Kung Fu or something...

The Intimidatisaurus Rex: Update:
According to a letter recieved by radio personality Charlie Hodge, The Intimidatisaurus Rexs are x-cons that belong to a halfway house, where the man in charge is forcing them to go beg for change, and if they don't come back with enough money each day, he has them sent back to prison. Apparently the guy is getting rich off of this scam. It has also been reported that APD picked up 3 of them today, for unknown charges. Be careful out there folks...

The Austin Texas Yogurt Shop Murders:
"The Yogurt Shop Murders was a case involving the murder of four teenage girls in a local yogurt shop in Austin, Texas. The murders occurred on December 6, 1991 where the shop was then set aflame. The bodies of Amy Ayres (13), Jennifer Harbison (17), Sarah Harbison (15) and Eliza Thomas (17) were subsequently discovered that night."
Sheldon:
For awhile after this happened, the police did a round up of "PIB's" (People in Black), looking for anyone that might have been involved, thinking it had something to do with the occult. I knew Goth kids that bragged about getting picked up by the police during this time.
Just for the record, I was living in Houston when this happened, but since moving to Austin, I have worked with a woman who was friends with one of the Mothers of one of the murdered girls, a suspect that worked next door to the shop, the mother of a man that was on the jury of one of the trials, and I used to work at a costume shop very close to the shopping center.
They have still not solved these murders. The guys they found guilty keep turning out not to be the right guys... I hope they do catch the right guys though.

Room 710 Closing?
Lucid Dementia used to play Room 710 a few years ago, until we added another guitarist, and felt like we were too big to play the medium sized stage they have there, but when we did play there, it was always an awesome.
I will never forget the band played there the election night W the Bush "won" the first time. Cassandra was still with the band, and upon hearing about the win, almost started a riot...
Now there are rumors the club will be shutting down. Hopefully they are wrong... If it's true, it's another nail in the coffin of live music in Austin.

Austin City Sound Ordinance: Killing Live Music in Austin
"Noise complaint shuts down Unplugged at the Grove
By Michael Corcoran | Thursday, June 11, 2009, 08:18 PM
For the first time in its 16-year existence, KGSR’s “Unplugged at the Grove” series at Shady Grove was shut down Thursday night after a noise complaint from a neighbor. Shady Grove owner Mike Young said the restaurant is in the process of applying for a variance that will allow a ceiling of 85 decibels. According to the current noise code, Shady Grove is classified as a restaurant that must comply at 75 decibels."
My Opinion:
Dear Morons moving to Austin and then complaining about noise from live music: Have your ears removed, because you don't deserve to hear.
Dear City council that supports these laws: You suck.

The Intimidatisaurus Rex:
The Intimidatisaurus Rex is a "person" that belongs to a group of aggressive panhandlers in Austin, Texas that appear to be panhandling for some religious "charity". They are known to walk up to cars and stare threateningly into the windows yelling at the occupants, or sometimes reach into peoples cars in an attempt to snatch money.
The Local Radio personality from KLBJ-FM Charlie Hodge, first recognized and began reporting about them, today witnessed an Intimidatisaurus Rex attacking a homeless man in order to get his spot at a street corner.
Below is believed to be a picture of the incident:

6th Street On Fire:
When I first moved to Austin 6th Street was a mecca of diverse live music. I typically would go to 3 or 4 clubs in a single nigth and enjoy myself at every single one. Now a days it's a strip of shot bars and the potential for violence hip hop style clubs. This morning it is on fire.
