Listen bands:
1. Never pay to play. Don't do it. (And if you do you better be SURE it is worth it!)
2. I HATE "art contests". The beauty of Art is it's subjectivity. I know there are some well meaning promoters out there that love this kind of stuff because of the crowds it brings and all, but the bottom line is that it's just an ugly thing to do to art.
How about this, have a battle of the bands, but have every band play the same song in exactly the same way. Doesn't sound much fun does it? Well neither is the other way.
