Industrial Metal Band: Hardwire

Hardwire is currently touring with Hocico and will be playing with them in San Antonio on October 4th at The Warehouse Music Venue.

Their guitar sound has the most delicious noise quality to it.

Cool Mexican Industrial Band: Hocico

Actually, probably one of the best Industrial bands in the world performing right now. They are playing San Antonio October 4th at The Warehouse Music Venue, and I am going.

David Yow: Punk to the F ROCK!!!

This is a performance of Jesus Lizard in Dallas a few years back. Big influence on Sheldon. I don't understand why people go to 99% of the shows that are out there today, when there are bands like this to see...

(Please note: Hitting Sheldon in the head with a bottle gives him the right to eat your face off. Don't test this, you'll spend the rest of your life scaring children and looking like an a-hole. Seriously.)

Alice Coopers "Schools Out":

But if the song wasn't about school being out, it would probably never get played. I'm thinking I should write a song about 2999, so that it will be playing like crazy that year...

Part II: Sheldon in a band in College 1989: The Da Da's:

The Da Da's was a band thrown together for an art party with only a single rehearsal. The idea was to make noise, be obnoxious and angry, and have fun doing it. As you can see in the below video we were wildly successful. A bass guitar gets thrown at Sheldon at the end, later, someone threw a big trash can or barrel or something, then a fight broke out, and then somewhat of a riot. I think the police were called, arrests were made, tear gas and batons and fire, oh my! Well, maybe not all that stuff, but it got pretty intense.

Sheldon's Band Way before Lucid Dementia: Vigil

Waaaay back in 1989 Sheldon was in a short lived band in Huntsville Texas called "Vigil". The Butthole Surfers and Love and Rockets were a big influence. Just a few minutes ago an old college friend from another bands Sheldon was in with out of no where emailed him this video of a Butthole Surfers type cover of the Dwight Yoakums song "Guitars and Cadillacs"
(Yes, the screamy dork singing is Sheldon)
Enjoy:

New! Discover Music:

Lucid Dementia is set up on this Clear Channel (I know... yuck...) online deal where they have our bio and stuff and a song set up on all their radio stations websites. Bands actually have to apply for it and be chosen for it, and we did, and we got on. The more plays we get, the better our chances are of being played on the air of their many radio stations and what not. So I would advise you to go there and play the song over and over again...

Cramps Frontman Lux Interior R.I.P.

Damn. This guy was awesome and a small influence on Lucid Dementia.
He leaves behind a gaping hole in the world of cool music.

Ethyl Meatplow:

Want to know the reason why Lucid Dementia does many of the things it does?
Do you guess Marilyn Manson? If so then you are WRONG sir. (with no disrespect to MM...)
Many moons ago before Lucid Dementia existed Sheldon went to see TKK play, and the opening band was Ethyl Meatplow. Sheldon was changed forever. Shortly afterwards Lucid Dementia was created and the rest is history. Unfortunately so was Ethyl Meatplow. Luckily, Carla Bozulich, the lead singer of the band continued on with various other projects, including The Gerldine Fibbers.

Erase The Virus

There is a good chance we may be playing with this band soon, in Austin and in the Houston area. We met one of the guys one Halloween show at The Scout Bar near Houston. He was very excited about us at the time, and he gave us a demo, which proved to be very entertaining for us on our long ride back home. Well it's been 2 or 3 years later, and we are in final talks about finally playing together. Finally.
They are awesome. Think harder edged industrial, but cooler. Think Skinny Puppy before they got all clean. Think Marilyn Manson hard.
