Sweatshop (The Movie) Review:

(Sweatshop is the movie that used 6 or 7 Lucid Dementia songs in the sound track.)
Review by The Gore Whore. Makes a nice mention of Lucid Dementia.
"The fantastic soundtrack was also an added bonus to the feel of the film (which, for an indie flick is no mean feat, without just sticking a lot of unsigned crappy bands that you know on your movie), with bands like Android Lust and Lucid Dementia featuring, kind of making my day."

Surviving the Show Lucid Dementia at Meridian Review

I'm still trying to wrap my head about all that happened Friday night. It was a grand success!

The trip to Houston was harrowing to say the least. From the moment the band left the house until they arrived at the venue, it poured rain. They spent hours in traffic, passing flipped over cars and various accidents, as well as having to smash through a river of water flooding a low overpass in Houston just before it was closed.

Meridan is HUGE and wonderful. It is a 2 story behemoth of a club broken up into a maze of amazing rooms and bars that keeps it from feeling empty, and gives the whole place a rather magical feel, like an even better party could be going on just through the next entrance (and there usually was!).

The crowd was great. Houston has an beautiful and thriving scene, and they turned out in droves for this event. While some Lucid Dementia audiences can be a little reserved in their enthusiasm, the Houston crowd was more than willing to dance their asses on and be just as rowdy as the band was able to push them.

Everything got pushed back a couple of hours, and instead of the band going on first, they got to go on after the movie. So at 10pm the crowd got exposed to the wonderful horror that is Sweatshop, and then right after at about midnight the band blasted on to give them a live taste of horror and all it's embellishments.

The show was being filmed for a future collaborative release of a music video (for the film and the band) so all the stops were pulled this show: Luci in all her glory, a brilliant sound system (Loud and pumping) and blood flowed like wine on stage.

The band would like to thank everyone who made this possible: Naika Whisperwish, Sabrana Sin and her Fetish crew, Meridian, Andrew Quoth Zeronine, Spencer Selph, Ivan Gamez and The sound guys.

Lucid Dementia Poetry:

There is a sub-forum in the NIN forums called "Lucid Dementia". Lucid Dementia the band has no idea why, just that it screws with their google stats and name recognition.
A Lucid Dementia Poem about the Lucid Dementia NIN forum:
(By Luci)
"There once was a sub-forum named Lucid Dementia
On a NIN website, why?
Curly fries and cheese, they love them.
So full of angst and hot topic.
Poetry meet my shiny sharpened teeth
I chomp you. Schutz!"

The Austin Chronicle Music Awards:

I just realized that Lucid Dementia has at least placed 8 times in the last decade:

Our Austin Awards History:
2010: 4th Best Industrial/Goth
2009: 5th Best Industrial/Goth
2008: 3rd Best Industrial/Goth
2008: 7th Best Metal
2007: 1st Best Industrial/Goth
2007: 6th Best Metal
2007: 5th Best Punk
2006: 5th Best Industrial/Goth
2006: 5th Best Punk
2005: 1st Best Industrial/Goth
2005: 4th Best Metal
2005: 3rd Best Punk
2005: 2nd Best Record Producer (Sheldon Reynolds)
2001: 5th Best Metal/Industrial
2000: 9th Best Metal/Industrial
(The band was born in 1996. Until 2005, I don't even think there was a Industrial/Goth category!)
The Gap from 2002-2004 was from when we lost a guitarist and Cassandra left the band. It took a long time to replace them and gear back up to playing full force. Also, Sheldon was learning a new recording system and working on getting up to par for The List, which took about a year. I think it was worth it, don't you?
