I'm still trying to wrap my head about all that happened Friday night. It was a grand success!
The trip to Houston was harrowing to say the least. From the moment the band left the house until they arrived at the venue, it poured rain. They spent hours in traffic, passing flipped over cars and various accidents, as well as having to smash through a river of water flooding a low overpass in Houston just before it was closed.
Meridan is HUGE and wonderful. It is a 2 story behemoth of a club broken up into a maze of amazing rooms and bars that keeps it from feeling empty, and gives the whole place a rather magical feel, like an even better party could be going on just through the next entrance (and there usually was!).
The crowd was great. Houston has an beautiful and thriving scene, and they turned out in droves for this event. While some Lucid Dementia audiences can be a little reserved in their enthusiasm, the Houston crowd was more than willing to dance their asses on and be just as rowdy as the band was able to push them.
Everything got pushed back a couple of hours, and instead of the band going on first, they got to go on after the movie. So at 10pm the crowd got exposed to the wonderful horror that is Sweatshop, and then right after at about midnight the band blasted on to give them a live taste of horror and all it's embellishments.
The show was being filmed for a future collaborative release of a music video (for the film and the band) so all the stops were pulled this show: Luci in all her glory, a brilliant sound system (Loud and pumping) and blood flowed like wine on stage.
The band would like to thank everyone who made this possible: Naika Whisperwish, Sabrana Sin and her Fetish crew, Meridian, Andrew Quoth Zeronine, Spencer Selph, Ivan Gamez and The sound guys.
