"Nadya Vessey's legs were amputated below the knee when she was a child due to illness, as a child she would tell her friends that she was actually a mermaid. She decided to stick to her story well into adulthood so much so that she wrote into the special effects firm responsible for the countless award winning film sequences for movies like Lord of the rings, Narnia and the sorts. Nadya now can swim comfortably with the prosthetic tailfin and hopes many other amputees get to experience such contraptions for themselves."
