Bands just stating out: Video tape and photograph everything! You'll thank me later...
Anyway, I'm pretty sure these pictures were taken during one of or very first shows, probably around 1997.
Cassandra was still singing for the band, and a guy named Christian was playing guitar for us. He left the band to move to Spain to play with his famous jazz guitar playing Uncle.
AzilX was there, but I had not yet allowed a bass player in the band. I was really thinking I would keep the bass parts electronic, thus keeping us in touch with our "industrial" "electronic" roots. Turned out it wasn't necessary because most of the programmed bass that we used was acoustic sounding anyway.
Cassandra:
When Cassandra was in a good mood, everyone was in a good mood. When Cassandra was in a bad mood, EVERYONE was pretty distressed. Chock full of charisma this girl.

Cassandra and the band:

Notice in the above pic: -Back then, I wore the Luci Costume the entire show. Since I did, I also wore a hood and painted my face black. By the way, this was at the old Austin club, The Atomic Cafe, which is not Elysium. The Air conditioning did not work well, we sweated like crazy.

A Younger AzilX:

Cassandra, Luci, and the Mixing Station I custom built out of metals strips and wood.
It wasn't heavy, but it was gangily as hell and full of razor sharp edges. I put a lot of work into it, but it was so hard to get around I think we only used it once.
Another of Cassandra and Luci
Good times, but things were MUCH harder back then. We really hadn't hit our stride yet, and a lot of clubs would NOT book us, mainly because we used electronics and we weren't a "traditional rock band".
